Glass Options

Your shower enclosure can be designed in various types and styles of glass.  These options include:

Clear Glass: glass that is transparent and has a characteristic green edge.  This green edge is caused by the refraction of light through the iron in the glass.

Low Iron Glass:  glass that has undergone a process to remove iron, resulting in an ultraclear look with water white edges.  This glass is referred to as Starphire or Opti-white Glass.

Frosted Glass:  glass that is obscure, created by acid etching or sandblasting the glass surface.  (It is important the treated side of the glass is installed on the outside surface of the shower.)  Simple geometric shapes are readily available on this type of glass.  This glass is also referred to as Bisselux Glass.

Etched Glass:  glass with art work etched into the outside surface then coated with a protective Teflon coating.  Etchings are always customized, although Ridgefield Glass has several options available in our showroom for your consideration.  If selecting your own design, art work needs to be supplied in a digital format.

Antique Glass:  gives a traditional look to your modern shower enclosure!  Visit our showroom to see this glass sample to appreciate its elegance!

Obscure Glass:  other glass options are available in varying degrees of obscurity.  These glass options include Rain Glass, Bubble Glass, Aquatex, and tinted (smoke or bronze) glass.  These options are indicated below.
